The studio
Light on Yoga Fitness is a yoga studio in downtown Huntsville, Alabama, set in a historic church in the Five Points neighborhood. The space is warm and welcoming to people of every level and ability.
The old website didn’t show that. It had the right information, but the colors were drab and the design felt dated.
Where it started
The site was built on Wix. Wix works well for people who are comfortable with drag-and-drop builders, and not every business needs WordPress. This site, though, had become bulky and hard to manage.
We look at each client’s needs on their own terms and recommend what fits the business today and where it’s headed. We had a frank conversation with the owners, walked them through our hosting options, and they chose to move to WordPress hosting with us.
Hosting
Our hosting runs on Flywheel. Each site gets dedicated resources and server-side caching tuned for WordPress. We add our standard set of SEO, security and image optimization plugins so the site stays fast as traffic grows. The owners also get a client dashboard for their account.
Design
We started with mockups, color schemes, layout and user experience. The owners wanted light blue to stay prominent, so we built the palette around it. The first rounds of mockups took some work to get right. Like yoga, it got better with practice.
The new site
With the mockups approved, we built the site. The result is open and spacious, with the same light, warmth and color you find in the studio. It works as an open invitation to join the studio’s community.
